How
to hold a Family Day
|
|
Getting off the ground | |
· Your family decides to host a Family Day either in your home or a parish hall etc. ·
Choose
a date and invite one or more families and don't be frightened to start
with only two families. · If you don't know the other NACF families in your area that's a really good reason for holding a Family Day so write to us and we'll send you mailing labels of local members. |
|
Food and drink | |
·
It
is important that the host doesn't have all the hard work so just provide
the space. · Ask every family to bring along some food and drinks to share. |
|
The Children | |
·
Parents
want their children to enjoy the day mixing with other Catholic children. ·
Make
sure there is a place to play a walk to the park so don't forget the
slippers! · Get the older children to help with the younger with a play or music which they can perform to their parents after the talk. |
|
Prayer | |
· Ask the families who can't make it that day or a local group of contemplatives to pray for the Family Day. |
|
Finally remember. | |
· With prayer and a little perseverance the local group will take off and the. families will give one another the mutual support that they need in order to contribute to the building of the “civilization of love”. |
